Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
This policy explains what Polishr collects and how it is used. Questions about your personal data: privacy@getpolishr.com. For anything else, including your account, your subscription, or a billing question, email hello@getpolishr.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a hashed password. We cannot see your password.
- Notes: the text you type, paste, or dictate, and the polished output we produce from it.
- Device: a random identifier we generate, your device name and type, and how many polishes you have used. Not your serial number, not an advertising identifier.
- Usage: anonymous analytics about which features are used. Never the contents of your notes.
- Notifications: a push token, if you enable them.
Photos are not stored. A photographed page is sent to our servers, the text is read out of it, and the image is discarded. Only the text is kept.
Voice recordings are not stored. Your device converts speech to text and only the text reaches us. If your device cannot do this on its own, or you switch that option off, Apple performs the conversion under their privacy policy. The audio never reaches us.
Your display name, profile picture, Collections, reminders, drafts, and preferences stay on your device.
How we use it
- To run Polishr: your account, your notes, the polishing, your subscription.
- To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse.
- To improve Polishr: understanding how features are used, diagnosing problems, and developing new ones. This includes analysing usage in aggregated and de-identified form.
- To contact you about your account.
We do not use your notes to train AI models, and neither does our AI provider. Polishr contains no advertising and no third party tracking, and we do not sell your data.
Who else processes it
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosting your account and notes (servers in Frankfurt, Germany) |
| Anthropic | Producing the polished output |
| Resend | Sending account emails |
| Expo | Delivering push notifications |
| Mixpanel | Anonymous usage analytics |
| Apple | Payments, and speech to text where on device conversion is unavailable |
Transfers outside the EU are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Your notes and account are kept until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your notes, devices, and notification tokens permanently.
A device unused for 30 days is removed automatically. A count of free polishes used is kept after account deletion so the free tier cannot be reset by deleting and recreating accounts. It contains no personal information.
Your choices
- Delete your account and everything in it, in Settings.
- Export your notes as PDF, Word, PowerPoint, or CSV.
- Turn off notifications, in Settings or your device settings.
- Access or correct your data, by emailing us.
You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored as hashes, and access rules prevent one account from reading another's notes. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data we will tell you.
Age
Polishr is for users aged 13 and over. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, a parent or guardian must agree to this on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
